Streamline Your Clinical Data Flows – Medical Device Integrations

CRF Health provides medical device integrations to support both spirometers and glucometers used in Phase I-IV respiratory and diabetes clinical trials.  These specialized integrations allow study site staff to monitor the measurements patients obtain using the devices, in real-time, along with all other ePRO data being collected in the study.

With intelligent data sending, this real-time integration allows study site staff to view the data obtained in a timely manner, enabling on-time analysis and decision making regarding any patient obtained measurement data through-out the trial.

Spirometer Integration (ASMA-1 PEF Meter)

Spirometer Integration (ASMA-1 PEF Meter)Frequently patients in asthma or other respiratory studies use a spirometer to measure lung function.  CRF Health utilizes Vitalograph’s ASMA-1 PEF meters to capture at-home PEF measurements.

Measurements from ASMA-1 are transferred instantly via Bluetooth connection into CRF Health’s eDiary. From there the data is sent to TrialManager® and, when needed, to other eClinical systems for review and analysis.

Glucometer Integration (MyGlucoHealth® Wireless Meter)

MyGlucoHealth® Wireless MeterDiabetes clinical trials require patients to use a glucometer to monitor their blood glucose level.  CRF Health can offer Sponsors of diabetes clinical research the benefit of a Bluetooth integration between our eDiary and the MyGlucoHealth® glucometer.

With the integration, the patient can easily transfer the measured glucose values from the glucometer into the eDiary.  With intelligent data sending, blood glucose data is made available for site staff in TrialManager® (CRF Health’s web portal) in real-time.

CRF Health has additional integration capabilities with EDC and other eClinical systems, enabling the patient obtained spirometry and/or blood glucose data (along with all ePRO data) to be available in real-time within these systems.

Benefits for clinical trial Sponsors using medical devices with ePRO include:

  • Real time access to all patient obtained measurements
  • Efficient  transmission of data and information
  • High compliance to protocol (reminder alerts to collect measurements)
  • No  data transcription errors
  • Time-stamped data
